Hamilton Cricket has a strong emphasis on improving girls cricket and cater for girls of all abilities at school, club and representative levels. Hamilton Cricket provides a number of opportunities based on the interests, aims and ability of each individual.
- Primary schools provide ample opportunity to play in participation orientated softball cricket. If your primary school cannot offer cricket for various reasons, there are various clubs around Hamilton which provide opportunities.
- The Junior Northern Premier League (JNPL) is an intermediate girl’s tournament, with games hosted midweek. Hamilton Cricket are working towards combining girls from various schools to ensure girls are always presented this opportunity, regardless of numbers at any one school.
- Various secondary schools from around Hamilton and Waikato Valley combine to the Secondary School Girls Competition.
Mereana (Meddy) Hyde is the Development Activator for the whole Waikato region and is focused solely on growing female participation across all abilities, as well as working with clubs and schools to develop sustainable playing opportunities for females to enjoy the game at local level.
